Which Trading Platform is Better: TradingView or StockCharts?

When it comes to trading, creating social communities, news, backtesting and analysis, TradingView is the clear winner. Its clean, ad-free interface gives users the opportunity to interact only with the content that matters most to them.

StockCharts

, on the other hand, seems to be quite crowded and publishes announcements frequently. In this comparative review, I'll discuss the key functionalities and features of each platform.

I'll compare in detail how to get started with each platform, the platform's tools, the fees, the brokerage support, the interface design, the learning curve, and more. I will give my opinion on which platform performs best in each category and, at the end of the article, I will offer my general opinion on which platform works best in this comparative review between TradingView and Stockcharts. Since both platforms are based on web browsers, TradingView and StockCharts have only basic system requirements. This makes both platforms accessible to any user with a stable Internet connection.

Both platforms are compatible with most modern Internet browsers. TradingView and StockCharts have a good selection of plan types. It offers many options for finding an account that fits your budget and preferences. Both TradingView and StockCharts are based on a web browser and do not require any software installation. TradingView offers a native mobile application, while StockCharts has only optimized some of its functions to adapt them to a mobile browser.

One of the drawbacks of running StockCharts is that some of its complex tools (such as ChartNotes, its annotation tool) don't adapt well to the smaller screens of the mobile version. There is no doubt that TradingView has a wider network of compatible brokers that offer different types of assets, such as futures, stocks, currencies and cryptocurrencies. The list includes popular brokers TradeStation, OANDA, FXCM, Gemini (crypto), among others. TradingView offers about 50 drawing tools that can be used for free. TradingView's interface and toolbars generally make it easy to find and use these tools.

They are initiatives, they look great, they are clear and can be easily customized. The official StockCharts technical chart, SharpCharts, is one of the most used functions on the platform. Users can use it together with the SharpCharts Workbench, where some of the technical overlays and indicators are found. Users can also access StockChartsACP's new full-screen, real-time interactive streaming, as well as Candlegance and PerfCharts. Learn more about these graphics here. StockCharts presents a professional feel.

Your control panel is well organized and segregated into well-defined panels. A wide spectrum of users love TradingView because of its great charting experience. TradingView is famous for its initiative, interface graphics, and interface design. The graphics are clean, clear and clutter-free.

It's extremely easy to navigate through the graphics to access tools and other functions. Both TradingView and StockCharts offer the most popular technical indicators. TradingView has a wide and growing list of indicators, strategies and scripts created by third-party users. Its native programming language, Pine Script, is known for being a lightweight and easy to learn programming language. This opens the door for traders, even without programming experience, to create their own indicators and contribute to the TradingView library. TradingView offers 1 free customizable alert with its free account; this will change to 10 to 30 to 400 active alerts from the Pro account to the Premium account.

Users can easily program alerts with the Pine Script code in their own custom indicators. TradingView was built with social media at the forefront and is simply the best thing for sharing and learning on social media; forget StockTwits — TradingView is the best. Both TradingView and StockCharts allow you to interact with other traders on the platform; however, TradingView has a clear advantage due to its larger community size. Both platforms cover stocks, indices and cryptocurrencies; however StockCharts is only available in U. S., while TradingView is global. TradingView supports 27 different high-quality brokers which means tight integration so you can trade directly from charts and see your profits and losses directly on TradingView. What impresses me most about Stockcharts is the quality of resources available on their platform; support and learning resources are top notch! For this comparative review I give my vote to TradingView; its interface design & charting experience along with ease of use & access to mobile application are features that I look for in a browser-based trading platform.

So prioritize what's important to you when making your decision; both platforms are easy to learn & use but if you're looking for social trading & global coverage then TradingView should be your go-to choice!.
